Jordan 22
The Nike Air Jordan XXII, designed by D'Wayne Edwards, was released in 2007. In the likeness of previous models before it, the design of the Air Jordan XXII was inspired by a famous vehicle: the F-22 Raptor Fighter Jet. The shoe's aggressive and sharp design pays tribute to the iconic war plane. Some special features of the shoe include an updated interchangeable Independent Podular Suspension system, metallic mesh for ventilation, the Air Jordan camouflage pattern printed in reflective 3M, and an updated traction system that imitates an army general's stripes.
There are two special editions of the Air Jordan XXII. The first edition was released for Jordan's 44th birthday on February 17, 2007. This edition features authentic Jordan Brand basketball leather. The second edition is the Omega model, part of the Alpha-Omega package. This model features a laser-etched image of Jordan after he won his sixth NBA championship in 1998.
