Jordan 9
The Nike Air Jordan IX was converted to a baseball cleat for His Airness.
The Air Jordan IX was originally released in November 1993, and it was the first Air Jordan model released after Jordan's retirement. Jordan never played a full season in the NBA wearing these shoes.
The Air Jordan IX features a Dynamic-Fit inner bootie, encapsulated air unit, large-volume air unit at the heel, a polyurethane midsole, and a "one-pull" lacing system. The outsole features characters in languages from different countries, symbolizing the globalization of Michael Jordan and the Air Jordan brand.
The Air Jordan IX was the shoe chosen for Jordan's feet on his statue outside of the United Center in Chicago, Illinois. Michael Jordan also wore these in the hit movie "Space Jam."
