The Nike Air Force 1: Coveted and desired, for playing basketball on the streets and for business meetings in executive suites, to break necks and to protect ankles. Arguably one of the most influential and most popular sneakers ever created. Created by legendary designer Bruce Kilgore, the Nike Air Force 1 made it's way into sneaker history in 1982.

Originally, the Nike Air Force 1 was only offered in two silhouettes: the more sought after Nike Air Force 1 Hi and the now more common Nike Air Force 1 Low. The Nike Air Force 1, named after the United States personal Presidential Plane "Air Force One", offered some groundbreaking design details. To increase longevity of the shoe, no expense was saved in the development of the Nike Air Force 1.

The Nike Air Force 1 sported a revolutionary 1/2 inch thick insole with new rubber chemistry, including a three-plate mold to reinforce the upper and the proprioceptus belt on the ankle for support. And who can forget the "AIR" inscribed on the midsole? That's right! AIR in a Nike basketball shoe. Unlike it's predecessors, (Nike Blazer, Nike Bruin, Nike All Court) the Nike Air Force 1 had AIR not only in the name of the shoe, but in the insole, which would revolutionize the sneaker world forever.

From its 1982 introduction, the Nike Air Force 1 took a nearly 10-year hiatus and reintroduced itself in 1991. Since the reintroduction of the Nike Air Force 1, we have seen the shoe in all its glory, from the Nike Air Force 1 Mid to the Nike Air Force 1 Premium, Nike Air Force 1 Supreme, Nike Air Force 1 QS, Nike Air Force 1 LS and many, many more.

We have seen the Nike Air Force 1 celebrate places like Puerto Rico, West Indies, Chi-Town, Los Angeles and NYC. We have seen the Nike Air Force 1 celebrate holidays like Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, Easter and Halloween. We have seen the Nike Air Force 1 pay homage to the original basketball players who wore the shoe in the 80's by having today's hoop stars wear the shoes for the 25th anniversary. Since its inception, the Nike Air Force 1 has been offered in over 1,000 colorways. There is sure to be an Air Force 1 for everyone. And who can resist the all white or "white on white" Nike Air Force 1's? THE shoe. Worn on the court by legends like Michael Cooper, Moses Malone, Bobby Jones, and Rasheed Wallace. Rapped about by numerous hip-hop artists like Jay-Z, Nelly and Rick Ross. Loved by all. The Nike Air Force 1.
