Released in the early 90's, the Nike Air Max Command featured the Air Max unit for cushioning. To decrease impact even further, Nike used PU midsoles. Running shoes need to be breathable and offer great support, so Nike used a combination of mesh and leather. Nike also used rubber soles with a waffle pattern for optimal durability and traction. Overall, the Nike Air Max Command definitely represents what the Air Max series is about: comfort, support, and cushioning.
