The famous Nike Blazer was produced in 1972. Originally made to be used on the basketball court, the Blazer is now mostly used for skateboarding. The Nike Blazer is typically constructed of canvas, suede, and leather. The most well-known player to have worn the Nike Blazer is Iceman George Gervin. The biggest difference between old-school Blazers and modern ones is the padding. Today's Blazers feature extra padding in order to provide better cushioning for skateboarders.
