Umbro, originally known as Humphrey Brothers Clothing, was founded in 1924 by tailors Harold and Wallace Humphreys. Recognizable by its double-diamond logo, Umbro is the original Manchester-based English football brand that essentially invented sports tailoring and revolutionized sportswear.

Umbro's claim to fame came in 1934, when Manchester City sported an Umbro football kit in which the team won the FA Cup. Umbro has long been associated with England's national team, and has supplied kits for many English teams at all levels. It can be argued that Umbro helped England transform football from a popular pastime to a national sport.

Umbro's rich heritage still lives on today as the brand continues to remain a prominent name in football culture.
